WoW Mage Guide For Mists of Pandaria

Mage GuideThe Mage reminds me of the Warlock class to some extent, although really the two are completely different classes and play an entirely different role in the game.

The Mage is a powerful spell casting class that can inflict heavy damage on their opponents as well as keep opponents under control with a number of different abilities.

Although Mage class aren’t the strongest of classes they are a formidable opponent that can easily overcome their opponents when played correctly.

The Mage in Combat

When it comes to combat the Mage class aren’t the easiest class to master!

Realistically the Mage is only going to serve one purpose and that’s to deal damage at range and lots of it. The Mage is all but redundant for Tanking and Healing purposes but they do have many other useful abilities so they’ll always be useful in groups and PvP teams.

Alhough the Mage class can inflict heavy damage on their opponents they are likened to the Warlock class in that the Mage doesn’t cope all that well in melee combat (close quarter combat) and instead deals out steady damage from a distance using their variety of magic spells.

One slight disadvantage the Mage has is their armor!

The Mage is equipped with just cloth for armor which doesn’t do much for survivability!

To counteract the weak armor though, the Mage is equipped with some pretty nifty spells to keep opponents at bay and the new Mists of Pandaria expansion has seen the Mage class inherit some pretty cool talents that will make them a formidable opponent if you get the right spec’s.

This is why the Mage can take a little more practice to really be effective in combat as they aren’t equipped to take damage but instead rely on ranged magic damage and defensive spells.

Benefits of the Mage

A really cool ability that the Mage class possess is the ability to teleport between cities, however not only can the Mage create portals for themselves, they can even make portals for other players to use the Mages ability to their advantage!

A Mage will always be an advantage to a group as well due to the simple fact that they can conjure up food and water with their Conjure Refreshment ability.

Healers stand to benefit mutually from this ability as it will save them having to buy their mana drinks. This ability can also prove to be a time saver for the Mage as well as money saver.

It’s the best time to make a few plans for the long run regarding my character and game plan. I’ve learned a lot in this post as well as others and if I may just ask that perhaps you can write subsequent articles regarding this article. TY.

Standing still as an Arcane Mage in arena to cast would not be advisable!

The reason is that the Arcane Mage is so powerful they can deal out a ton of damage in a short space of time, while mobile. If your going to stand and cast as a Mage then the Frost build is much better as it deals out more consistent damage over time, and doesn’t oom in 30 seconds. Arcane blast oom\’s the Mage fast, and also, being Arcane, you sacrifice most of your defensive spells, so its very possible a DK, Rogue, Feral druid, and even a Warrior could kill you in 2-3shots.

Very good most of your articles, many pages of quality posts including this Mage guide, I admire you in many things you write about and i disagree in others, the rapid changing nature of our beloved game does make writing accurate posts difficult with the constant need for updating and you’ve done a great job.
